A castle is a type of frame structure built in Europe and the Middle East during the Middle ages by European nobility,it has the combination of beams ,columns and slabs to resist the lateral and gravity loads.

In the beginning castles, were constructed out of wood,stone and mortar.The earlier the castle, the more wood was employed .

The castles were both offensive and defensive structures; they provided a base from which raids could be launched as well as protection from enemies.
